Senior SDET / Quality Engineer | London (Hybrid) | FinTech | AI Test Automation | £70,000–£90,000 + 20% Bonus + Benefits
We’re partnering with an established UK FinTech that is investing heavily in its technology platform, engineering capability and use of AI. As part of this transformation, they’re looking for a Senior SDET / Quality Engineer / QA to help evolve their testing capability into a modern, automation-first Quality Engineering function.
This is far more than a traditional QA or manual testing role. You’ll work closely with software engineers to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle, helping shape the automation strategy, build scalable test frameworks and introduce AI-assisted approaches to testing. You’ll have real influence over how quality is engineered across customer-facing financial products used by hundreds of thousands of people.
We’re looking for experience across areas such as:
- Test Automation, SDET and Quality Engineering
- Must have Playwright, WebDriverIO and/or Appium. With Cucumber or Gherkin for BDD
- TypeScript and/or JavaScript
- C# / .NET environments and ideally development capability
- REST API testing and Postman
- GitHub, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing within the SDLC
- Datadog, observability and quality metrics
- AWS and cloud-native environments
- React Native or similar mobile applications
- Performance and non-functional testing
- AI-assisted testing, test generation or intelligent automation
- Financial services such as lending, loans, credit cards or payments (FCA regulations, PCI-DSS etc)
Exposure to AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, S3, OpenSearch and Athena would be beneficial, as would experience working with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, InVision, Sketch or Adobe XD.
You’ll be joining a collaborative engineering team that is actively embracing AI, automation and modern software delivery, with the opportunity to influence tooling, processes and engineering standards rather than simply inherit an established testing function.
The package includes a £70,000–£90,000 base salary, up to 20% annual bonus, enhanced pension, generous holiday allowance, hybrid London working 3 days a week and excellent opportunities for continued learning and development.
