AI Automation Developer – Human Resources | Fully Remote | Project Contract (Permanent Potential) | WealthTech - £350 p/d outside IR35

An opportunity to join a fast-scaling global WealthTech firm as an AI Automation Developer within HR, designing and building AI-driven automation across the entire employee lifecycle. Remote or office-based, project contract initially with strong potential to become permanent. This is a high-impact role focused on AI, automation, machine learning, workflow optimisation, and HR technology transformation within a 600+ person international financial technology business.

This role reports to the Head of Talent and Transformation and is responsible for architecting and building intelligent automation solutions across Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning & Development, and HR Operations. You will design workflows from scratch, rapidly prototype solutions, test them with real users, and iterate quickly. The focus is on building practical AI tools that improve efficiency and employee experience, not configuring off-the-shelf systems but creating intelligent solutions grounded in engineering principles. Technical requirements include strong programming skills (Python, Java, C++ or similar), understanding of machine learning frameworks and AI concepts, experience building automation tools, bots, scripts, or AI-assisted workflows, ability to prototype rapidly and iterate based on user feedback, and clear communication skills when working with non-technical stakeholders. You will work closely with HR, Talent, and Engineering teams, measuring impact and transitioning successful prototypes into production-grade systems.

You will not be constrained by long approval cycles, you will identify inefficiencies, propose bold automation ideas, and ship improvements frequently. You will become the go-to AI and Automation specialist within HR while collaborating with a broader internal AI engineering community.
