Job Description
Platform Engineer (AWS) | £100k + 20% Bonus + Benefits | London (Hybrid 2–3 Days per Week) | FinTech / Financial Services
Help build the next generation of financial products designed to improve people’s financial wellbeing.
A fast-growing UK financial services company is undergoing a major cloud and platform transformation, launching a new suite of customer-facing digital products including a brand-new financial app. They are now looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and scaling the AWS infrastructure that powers these products.
This is a high-impact role with real ownership and visibility across the business. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and senior stakeholders to build secure, resilient, and scalable cloud platforms capable of supporting modern financial services applications in a highly regulated environment.
You’ll take ownership of core AWS infrastructure and platform capabilities, helping shape the future cloud architecture while improving automation, reliability, observability, and operational readiness across the estate. This includes infrastructure design, incident management, business continuity planning, technical documentation, and ensuring systems are production-ready at scale.
The environment includes AWS, serverless and container technologies (Lambda, ECS, Fargate, Docker), infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and modern monitoring and security tooling within a regulated FinTech environment.
We’re looking for Platform Engineers with strong experience delivering and managing AWS infrastructure and cloud services, ideally within financial services or similarly regulated environments. You’ll have a solid understanding of scalable platform engineering, cloud-native infrastructure, automation, and modern DevOps practices, alongside experience producing high-quality technical documentation for design assurance, support, and incident response.
Experience with technologies such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, Serverless Framework, Docker, ECS, Lambda, PostgreSQL, Datadog, Okta, Snowflake, Glue, Athena, API Gateway, or CloudFront would be highly beneficial. Exposure to networking, security, PCI-DSS compliant environments, and Linux or Windows administration is also desirable. Professional programming experience in Python, TypeScript, or C# would be a strong advantage.
This role would suit engineers who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, taking ownership of critical cloud platforms, and contributing to large-scale technology transformation programmes in fast-moving environments.
In return, you’ll receive a £100k salary, 20% bonus, strong pension contributions, hybrid working, and the opportunity to work on meaningful products that directly improve customers’ financial wellbeing.
