Engineering Manager About the Role
Playroll is looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to join the Engineering team. You will play a key role developing and deploying our apps and platform and supporting and helping our team to develop and grow in capability. You will report to the CTO and manage a team of full-stack Engineers. You will have experience as a senior Full Stack Developer or Tech Lead and as an Engineering Manager, and you must be passionate about software development and Engineering! You will be a hands-on leader of one of our product Engineering squads dedicated to achieving one of our most important strategic aims: building the platform and core services and capabilities that our products run on!
You Will: - Play a key role developing and deploying our apps and platform capabilities. - Act as an Engineering Manager and squad tech lead, guiding the direction of development and ensuring
adherence to the highest coding, design, and quality standards. - Manage and mentor full stack Engineers at various career levels, combining support with performance and
development coaching. - Contribute to the development of our Engineering culture as a champion of great outcomes, individual growth
and team-centric approaches. - Collaborate with technical and product functional leads and stakeholders to deliver the product roadmap,
turning product requirements into scalable solutions that make a difference for our clients and users. - Collaborate in the development of our architecture and play a leading role in technology choices and
innovation. - Optimize our development, test, release, and deployment processes, working with our quality and platform
Engineers.
Skills & Experience You have: - You embrace a growth mindset, always. - Experience as a Senior Fullstack Developer, Tech Lead or Engineering Manager - Experience of the operational side of software Engineering, e.g. deploying and operating at scale, CI/CD,
monitoring and observability. - You are always looking to develop your technical knowledge and technical leadership skills. - You consistently seek ways to improve products, processes and ways of working and continuously share what
you learn with your team. - You thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven, growth-centric environment. - Ability and confidence to challenge existing processes and ways of working and suggest improvements. - Confident explaining ideas, solutions and achievements to technical and non-technical audiences, team
members and stakeholders. - Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset. Data-driven approach
